Alternative Provision Services from Green Life Innovations
Green Life Innovations is a Community Interest Company which offers education and training to students of all ages and abilities, through immersing clients in the enterprise of restoring an ancient woodland and producing fruit and vegetables in an off-grid market garden.
Students are introduced to all aspects of running an agricultural business based around horticulture/arable and forestry. Individuals are encouraged to get involved in business discussions, planning, problem solving, budgets, most physical tasks-safety and ability permitting, production, woodcraft and carpentry, sales and trials.
GLI recognises that students are individuals with different abilities and aspirations. Young people have the opportunity to explore their full potential through encountering new experiences and discovering new skills. Life/work skills and STEM subjects are embedded in this vocational setting.
By bringing to the fore, nurturing, and extending existing skills sets, listening, encouraging and including individuals; self-worth and confidence is increased to propel young learners into further skills attainment and achievement.
Engagement and endeavour are further rewarded with a range of AQA Unit Awards with an additional portfolio of achievement.
In-house services are also available for schools. From design, build or renovation of outdoor teaching spaces to delivery of gardening, woodcraft, and outdoor curriculum science lessons.
